Many stars have changes their brunette tresses 

to blonde locks but is blonde really better?

Rihanna is a chameleon when it comes to her hair

she changed her hair from red to blonde in early 2012.

Demi Lovato debuted her blonde hair in February 2012

when she became a judge on the X-factor.

 The most recent dark to blonde change is Miley Cyrus.

She went blonde earlier this July bringing her back 

to her Hannah Montana days.

 Are these stars better as blondes?

Home Decor: Detailed Ceilings

Hey everyone I came across this photo the other day

and I had to blog about it.

The detail on this ceiling is amazing and adds an 

unexpected touch to this room.

When people think of a detailed ceiling

the Sistine Chapel may come to mind. 

However detailed ceilings are a hot design idea that 

 I would encourage people to use more often in their homes.

The detail draws the eye to an area that can 

sometimes go unnoticed. 

I for one love this look and would love to have it 

in my home.

Beauty DIY: Oatmeal Face Mask

Hi everyone today I will be teaching you how to make an oatmeal 

face mask. 

Oatmeal is very beneficial to the skin.

 It opens up your pores to flush out dirt.

It soothes the skin.

provides soft skin.

It can cure mild skin irritations.

Ingredients

1/4 cup of oatmeal

1/4 cup of water

2 teaspoons of honey

 

 How to make your own face mask 

1. Grind the oatmeal in a blender.

2. Put oatmeal in a bowl

3. Add your water

4. Stir water and oats until consistency is gooey

5. Stir in 2 teaspoons of honey

6. Apply to the face and leave for 10 minutes

7. Rinse off mask and enjoy soft skin

Nail Trend: Velvet Nails

What is the latest nail trend to try?

Velvet nails.

This trend first came out when Keri Blair a MAC 

makeup artist, debuted her velvet nails, at the 

Ruffman spring runway show.

This is now starting to become a well known trend.

Being seen allover Pintrest and Tumblr.

This manicure is easy to recreate

 All you need is some clear nail polish and velvet

flocking that you can purchase at an art store.

1. Coat your nails with the clear polish

2. While the polish is still wet apply the crushed velvet to your nails

3. Let dry and brush off any excess velvet

There you have it three simple steps on how to recreate a velvet

manicure.

Beauty Trend: BB Creams

Hey everyone the latest beauty trend to try is BB cream.

BB creams have recently become extremely popular.

Brands from Garnier to Smashbox to Estee Lauder 

are hopping on the BB cream train.

BB cream, the BB being short for beauty balm or blemish balm

have made their way to North America

from over seas in Asia.

These creams will give you the light coverage 

of a tinted moisturizer and protect your skin from 

the sun with its varying amounts of SPF.

Overall they will help your skin by improving

the texture and tone of your skin, it restores collagen

and improves the look of lines and wrinkles.

BB creams have become a staple for any beauty lover.

Flashback Fridays: Magazine Cover

Look at this vintage Seventeen magazine cover.

This cover above was one of the first Seventeen 

covers, and when was this cover released?

66 years ago!!! in 1944.

Seventeen was the magazine for the teen girls of America 

 it included topics on fashion, beauty, movies, music and 

relationship advice. Seems like not much has changed since 

then regarding the general content of the mag.

The only difference was that the magazine on cost 15 cents.

Now that's a bargain.

Vera Wang is known for her high end designs and

her amazing wedding dresses.

Now Vera Wang is available for children and teens at Khols.

The line is called Princess Vera Wang and prices range from

$16 - $98. The style of the line ranges from preppy to boho chic

and everything in between.

The line was inspired by Vera's own daughters.

With its range of styles and prices

there is something for everyone.

Essie has released a new collection to add to their huge array

of nail lacquer options.

I have noticed that Essie releases new collections very frequently

which keeps Essie lovers on their toes.

 The latest collection is the Mirror Metallics collection.

This collection consists of 5 nail polishes with a metallic finish.

Essie is known for their cream finish polishes

therefor this collection will be a step outside of their comfort zone.

Home Decor: Striped Floors

Hi everyone I was watching a design show called

Sarah 101. She was designing a kitchen and had put in 

multicolored striped floors.

I though this was a very cool idea and thought that 

it added some visual interest to on other wise 

plain floor. I think this looks very nice in a more 

toned down setting where the floor can stand out 

and not have to compete with too many busy patterns.

It looks classy and unique at the same time

I would love to try out this look in my own home.

They are being seen all over the runways and the Red Carpet.

This trend is being supported heavily by many celebrities.

Halle Berry, Christina Milian and many more.

This trend definitely has an edgy look to it but can 

also be made to look sleek and elegant.

I for one am a very big fan of this trend 

and would love to see more of it.

Betsey Johnson Closing

Hey everyone back in April 2012 Betsey Johnson announced 

that she would be filing for bankruptcy.

All Betsey Johnson stores will be shutting down.

But don't be too upset.

Her brand will continue to thrive as she makes appearances

at New York Fashion Week.

She will be focusing more on her reasonably priced collection

which sells better than her runway collection.

Betsey Johnson will still be available to purchase at Saks fifth avenue,

Bloomingdales and Nordstroms.
